1. How to Maximize Post Editing Window

To maximize the post editing window, click on the “full screen edit” toggle button. To swtich back to the regular view, click on the same button again.

If you want a bigger edit window but want to keep the rest of the WP buttons, left click on the bottom-right corner and drag it to expand the window to the desired size.

2. How to Fix the “500 Internal Server Error”

The “500 Internal Server Error” has caused some major performance issue on a lot of WordPress sites hosted on GoDaddy. The symptoms are as follows:

  • The pages load very slowly.
  • It happens to both Windows and Linux shared hosting.
  • You get this error page intermittently:

Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, support@supportwebsite.com and
inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

The solution is to:

  • Add the line “memory=20MB” (without quotes) to the php.ini file. The php.ini should be under html/ or html/wp-admin directory. If you cannot locate the file, SSH into the hosting server and type the commond: “find . -name php.ini” (no quotes).
  • Disable PHP FastCGI by updating the default action for file extensions. If you are using GoDaddy, log on to the Hosting Control Center, then click on Settings -> File Extensions. From there, update the .php4, .php5, and .php to run without FastCGI.
  • More information available here.
