Driving at 171 km/h with Two Kids on Board

How fast do you drive when you are driving alone? What about when there are kids or other passengers on board?

When passengers are on board, it is more frequent that I get cut off by vehicles from behind – a sign that my driving behaviour has changed. I tend to drive slower when there are passengers in the car. It is as if the brain is doing a real-time braking vs. stopping distance analysis with the added weight of passengers. Hmm, that sounds kinda awkward, so to rephrase it: To ensure the safety of the passengers.

That is not the case for this driver, which was speeding at 171 km/h with two children in the vehicle. That is 70km/h over the legal speed limit. I wonder if the driver would be charged under the new  street racing law. You can find the news article here.

Do your driving habits change when a passenger is on board?
