After enjoying a snow-free November (for the first time in 162 years), the GTA area had finally gotten the first snowfall in December last week.  By now most drivers have their winter tires on.  As I was driving to work during morning rush hour, I spotted a brand new Porsche 911.  It wasn’t the car that caught my attention, but rather the new set of winter tires on it.

What puzzles me is the rationale behind it.  If a person can afford to shell out over $100k for a brand new Porsche, doesn’t he/she have a second car?  Or if one can spend a few thousand dollars on a set of new winter tires with 18″ alloys, why not just get a winter beater?

Perhaps the shiny new Porsche is the second car.
